In Their Own Words

What did the Founding Fathers of America have to say? Was America founded by Christians? Was it founded to be a Christian nation?

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religion but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.","Give me liberty or give me death. "Patrick Henry of the Constitutional Convention.

There are 3 major United States foundational documents. 1. The Decleration of Independence dated July 1776. 2. The Articles of Confederation dated 1781. 3. The Constitution of the United States, 1787. The 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention are considered the Founding Fathers, however only 39 of the delegates signed the Constitution.
